Members of the public have received emails which misuse the contact details for Land Graham Partnership LLP.
What is the scam?
Members of the public have received emails which misuse the contact details for Land Graham Partnership LLP. The emails were purportedly sent from Land Graham Partnership LLP and contain an attached document which may contain harmful malware if opened.
The emails refer to the receipt of a memorandum of sale and indicate that the document attached contains contract documentation. The subject heading of the email is "Sales Memo". Land Graham Partnership LLP's address, telephone number, fax number and website address are also noted towards the foot of these emails.
The emails give the address Lacemaker House, 5-7 Chapel Street, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, SL7 3HN, the telephone number 01628 404620, the fax number 01628 404630 and the website address www.lgpsolicitors.co.uk.
Documents seen by the SRA show that these emails were sent from individuals with the names of "Oliver Haggis" and "Vincent Haggis". The SRA has also been advised that the name of Olivia Haggis has also been noted on these emails and that these were sent from different 'gmail' accounts.

The SRA has received further reports that emails have been sent which misuse the contact details for Land Graham Partnership LLP.
The latest emails claim to be sent from Robert Haggis of Land Graham Partnership LLP.
These emails have been sent from the email address: "email@example.com."
The latest emails also provide the telephone number 01628 404645 and a fax number 01628 404628.
Any business or transactions through the email addresses "firstname.lastname@example.org" or the telephone number 01628 404645 are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called Robert Haggis.
The firm have confirmed that they employ a barrister called Robert Haggis, and that the genuine Robert Haggis does not have any connection to the emails referred to above.
The fax number 01628 404628 is a genuine telephone number belonging to the firm Land Graham Partnership LLP, and has been misused without the genuine firm's knowledge and consent.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
Land Graham Partnership LLP is a genuine firm of solicitors which is authorised and regulated by the SRA. The genuine firm does have its head office address at Lacemaker House, 5-7 Chapel Street, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, SL7 3HN, telephone number of 01628 404620, fax number of 01628 404630 and website address www.lgpsolicitors.co.uk.
Land Graham Partnership LLP has confirmed to the SRA that the emails referred to above are not genuine, and that its name and contact details have been used without its permission and knowledge within the scam emails.
Oliver Haggis, Vincent Haggis and Olivia Haggis are not authorised and regulated by the SRA as solicitors. The SRA has also been advised they are not employees of Land Graham Partnership LLP.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
