Solicitors urged to contribute to Legal Education and Training Review survey

Solicitors and other stakeholders have only nine days—until 16 August—to respond to the anonymous online survey giving them the opportunity to comment and give information on the Legal Education and Training Review.

Professor Julian Webb, who heads up the Research Team which commissioned the survey said: "As of Friday, 3 August, we had received almost 1,000 completed responses from the legal profession but just 12.3 per cent of these were from solicitors.

"This is disappointingly low, failing to reflect the size or importance of the profession within the legal sector and it could mean that solicitors' specific interests are not properly addressed in the survey. By contrast, 18.6 per cent of responses have come from Legal Executives and a substantial 39.6 per cent have come from barristers."

The survey comprises a series of questions with a chance to make comments, or offer feedback and is likely to take 30-40 minutes to complete.

Anyone wanting to contact the research team with questions or concerns about the survey can email Simon Thomson.

The closing date to respond to the survey is 16 August 2012. Respondents will be entered into a draw to win an Amazon Kindle.
