The SRA supports Pride in London

This weekend the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is supporting the London Pride festival.

SRA staff will be joining the London Pride parade on Saturday 27 June. The march take to the streets of London to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) culture.

Earlier this year in May the SRA was also a part of the Birmingham Pride event for the first time as we took Pride in a diverse legal profession.

Paul Philip, SRA Chief Executive, said: "After a successful Birmingham Pride we are delighted to be supporting Pride in London and are looking forward to joining the parade. Encouraging and promoting diversity in the legal profession is important, both for the law firms and for the public who use their services."

Note to editors

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice. The SRA does this by overseeing all education and training requirements necessary to practise as a solicitor, licensing individuals and firms to practise, setting the standards of the profession and regulating and enforcing compliance against these standards.
