Warning: A stamped document misusing the name of Naylor Solicitors LLP

A stamped document purporting to be a 'Surrender of Lease' has been misusing the name of Naylor Solicitors LLP.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that a stamped document, purporting to be a 'Surrender of Lease' for a property in Aberdeen, AB10, is falsely claiming to be stamped by a genuine firm of solicitors.
The document seen by the SRA carries a bogus 'stamp' that misuses the name and address of the genuine firm (see below for details of the genuine firm). The false stamp carries the full name of the firm in larger letters at the top of the stamp.
The SRA understands that the document was received by an energy company.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Naylor Solicitors LLP. The genuine firm’s address is Warwick House, 25-27 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 0PP.
The genuine firm’s website is at www.naylorllp.co.uk.
The genuine firm of Naylor Solicitors LLP has confirmed that their genuine ‘stamp’ has the word Naylor in capital letters at the top, in the same style as the firm’s logo on its website, and they do not have any genuine connection to the stamp or document referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
