Warning: Emails misusing the name of Adamson Law

Emails have been sent misusing the name of Adamson Law in relation to supposedly unpaid invoices.
What is the scam?
Emails have been sent from an individual claiming to be 'Michelle Tompkins', 'Lawyer/ Debt Collection Litigation Counsel' at Adamson Law. The emails were sent from michelletompkins@adamson-laws.info and refer to supposedly unpaid invoices for professional services. The emails also request that prompt payment is made to avoid any legal action.
The email misuses the name and registered address of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).
Any business or transaction through the email address michelletompkins@adamson-laws.info is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates Adamson Law. Adamson Law is a trading name of Premier Solicitors (Bedford) Limited. The head office is based at 189 Bedford Road, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 8DD.
The genuine firm's telephone number is 01234 358 080. All emails from the genuine firm use the domain @premiersolicitors.co.uk.
The genuine firm has confirmed that it has no connection to the email referred to in the above alert or 'Michelle Tompkins'.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
