A website of 'www.concord-consultants.net' is operating and claiming to be a law firm called 'Concord Consultants'.

What is the scam?

A website of 'www.concord-consultants.net' is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm.

The website provides the telephone numbers of '+41 (218) 213-986' and '+44 7438 311-173' and an email address of 'support@concord-consultants.net'. It provides a postal address of 'Suites 10-12 The Hive Bell Lane, Stevenage, Herts, England, SG1 3HW'.

The SRA has also seen an email sent to a member of the public from 'Markus Leppik' who is described as a leading lawyer of 'Concord Consultants'. The email seen by the SRA advises the recipient to provide identification documents and bank statements to help them recover lost funds. The email was sent from the email address of 'markusleppik@concord-consultants.net' and provides a telephone number of '+44 743 831 11 73'. The member of the public also received an email containing an image of a passport purporting to be 'Markus Leppik'.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a genuine firm of solicitors called 'Concord Consultants'.

Any business or transaction through 'Concord Consultants', the website 'www.concord-consultants.net' or any of the contact details provided above is not undertaken by any individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
