What is the scam?
A website at 'expert-legalstudio.com' is operating and claiming to be a law firm.
A document has also been sent claiming to be from 'Expert Legal Studio' in relation to supposed cryptocurrency transactions. The document claims to have been signed by 'Marc T. David'.
The website provides the telephone number '+441226822003', the email address 'info@expertlegalstudio.com' and the address '86-90 Paul Street, London UK'.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a genuine firm of solicitors called 'Expert Legal Studio'.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a genuine individual called 'Marc T. David'.
Any business or transaction through the telephone number '+441226822003', the email address 'info@expertlegalstudio.com' and the address '86-90 Paul Street, London UK' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
