SRA launches new ways to engage

We have launched new ways to engage with members of the public and the profession, making information about our work as accessible as possible.

We are now using social media sites Facebook and Pinterest to carry messages about what we are doing. This adds to our well-established presence on Twitter, LinkedIn and Wikipedia.

Jane Malcolm, Executive Director, External Affairs, said: "We have increased our social media presence to engage with even more people, and as part of our commitment to openness and transparency.

"We have been using social media for a while as a way of sharing key information, such as scam alerts, changes to the Handbook and consultations. The response has been positive and we want to do more.

"Our Facebook pages will be a convenient way for people to find out about what we do, while Pinterest provides clear infographics on key areas of our work."

An existing SRA Facebook page was created as part of Facebook's communities project. The page used information that was available on our Wikipedia page, as well as other sources. That page will continue to exist within the communities project.

Our social media channels are used to highlight information we feel our various audiences need to know. Those who want to contact the SRA for specific information should use the details on our website at
