Taking instruction from vulnerable clients

We have published new guidance which highlights issues to consider before receiving and accepting instructions from vulnerable clients or third parties acting on their behalf.

It was put together having worked closely with members of the Law Society’s Mental Health and Disability Committee.

We have also updated our existing guidance on client confidentiality so that it includes more information about a client’s capacity to consent to the disclosure of their confidential information.
